Smiles In Studio

Here’s two portraits from another recent studio session. Full shoots allow time for 2-3 outfit changes. It always fun if one of the outfits has a themed element to it. This little girl wore a Bears shirt and it worked really nicely for some of the portraits.

Two Sisters

It was great to have these two sisters in for a mini portrait session recently. We had a fun time all round and some fantastic portraits. Mini sessions are ongoing at the studio through March.

In The Pink

Just looking back to a Fall 2011 session and sharing a couple of portraits here on my blog. It was a pleasure photographing these siblings.  It was great to see some dressy outfits too. The pink dress this little girl wore really was an ideal choice. It looked dressy and timeless but was simple enough to be able to move around in. I do not recommend pink when Fall color is at it’s peak of reds and oranges but once we have moved on to the dusty browns and faded yellows of late Fall ( I actually prefer these colors) pink can really work again!

Happy Birthday

We were able to deliver portraits just in time for this little girl’s FIRST birthday. Happy birthday to her! Such a special time for her family and we cpatured some sweet images in the studio session.

Family In Studio

Here’s a couple of portraits from another studio session. Again in the first image I was looking to capture an intimate family moment. Black and white really works well to focus on the relationships or bonding moments in a portrait.

To sleep or not to sleep…

To sleep or not to sleep, that is the question!

This little guy stopped by the studio for his first portraits when he was 4 weeks old. Beyond the first two weeks newborns are not generally on for snoozing very much. This little boy decided right from the get go that he was likely to miss something if he shut his eyes for too long! ( In fact the second portrait was taken when he took his one and only 10 minute nap). Mom and I hung out, had coffee, had cakes. hung out some more . That bakery/cafe downstairs comes in mighty handy at times. When I can’t work on curled up poses because babies won’t fall asleep I focus very much on Mom and baby and interactions. For me as the photographer those sort of images give me real joy. I actually love capturing relationships and the very unique expressions newborns have when they are awake. This is ONE of my most treasured newborn sessions.
