Day’s End

The sun has set on my family vacation for this Summer. I am back in Massachusetts as of today. For anyone who called or emailed this past week your messages will  be answered by Monday.

Summer Mini Sessions

Well the hazy lazy days of Summer are in full swing and my kids keep reminding me that there’s still half the school vacation still to come.  With this in mind I wanted to mention that Summer mini sessions are continuing to be offered through the end of August. The portrait below is from my personal mini session in the garden. You can see all the images in this gallery here. For more details visit my website and click on “mini session” under “Specials”.

Mini Session

Business Portrait, Natural Setting

Here are two from a session last week. My client is an esthetician and her company is Elana’s Skincare.  We are working on a portrait for her upcoming website. She was a natural in front of the camera and it was a pleasure being the photographer!

I do not typically offer standard studio style business headshots as part of my services. However I do book clients who are interested in business portraits with a more casual feel in a natural outdoor or urban setting.

High School Senior Reps Wanted

Are you a high school senior looking to have some great photos taken for your graduating year and school yearbook? I am offering a limited number of free photo sessions to students in Littleton and the surrounding towns if you sign up to be a rep.  This job does not require a huge commitment on your part but you must be willing to show off your photos and let fellow students know about my work. There are additional rewards for any future sessions booked by your school friends and associates. Interested in learning more? Email me for details.

Looking for a cool gift for Dad?

I am busy working on images from a couple of recent sessions which are going to be gifts for Father’s Day. Of course I can’t share them with you right now as that will spoil the surprise!

Are you looking for a great gift idea for Dad? How about a photo session and photos of the kids? If you don’t have time to devote to a full sesion I am currently offering weekday mini sessions. Information on these and my regular sessions can be found on my website. Just click on “rates” or “specials”.

Father’s Day gift sessions must be booked ASAP in order for prints to be ready for the special day! Call or email for information.

Rain, Rain Go Away…..

It’s been one of those wet and chilly Spring weeks that often happens here in Metro West. Thanks to my clients this week who have been flexible in rearranging their sessions.

Obviously rain makes most outdoor sessions a no go  (unless of course puddle splashing, umbrella holding photos are the order of the day). It is also worth mentioning that chilly temperatures and wet parks can also hinder the success of outdoor shoots with very young kids.  Indoor sessions can also be affected if it is a dark dreary day as I use all natural light for my work. I always work hard to reschedule clients as close to their original date as possible should the weather not be kind to us. Great weather goes a long way to producing a great session. I’m ready to leave the cold and wet stuff behind in exchange for some golden rays of sunshine. (Or, even better for photo sessions, warm cloudy evenings!)

Spring Sessions

Spring Flowers

“April showers bring May flowers….” I am SO looking forward for this saying to ring true. Spring feels a little late this year. I’ve been buying my Spring flowers (and photographing them of course) in the hope the warmer temperatures will arrive sooner!

Regardless of the dreary weather my session schedule is filling up. I am excited to get back outside with the camera with meet with returning clients and new folks too. As the scenery is still looking a little Wintry some people have opted to move their session a little later into the season. If you are considering scheduling a Spring Session please call early as available sessions will fill.

Presentation For The Boston West Photographic Society

I very much enjoyed giving a talk and presentation of my work to The Boston West Photographic Society last night. It was great to meet so many dedicated photographers and I would like to thank them for being an enthusiastic audience and making me feel very welcome. Additional thanks also to Mike and Ian for arranging the talk and providing display equipment. Wishing everyone all the best in their future photographic projects.

Photo display at the Java Room Cafe

Being a latte addict myself I’d like to let you know about a great place in Chelmsford – The Java Room Cafe. They serve coffee of course and a range of food but beyond that it also doubles as a happening place at night with late opening featuring live music and a wine and cocktail bar! From now until April 6th some of my work is on display there. On the evening of March 6th I’ll be at the cafe from 7-9pm with some friends and clients. I’d be delighted to meet people, share a drink and chat about my work.  For anyone interested there will be an extra bonus for anyone who books a session on the night too! ….Looking forward to seeing old friends and new faces on the 6th!

A word about gallery wraps…

A few days ago I was at home hanging a canvas of my kids. This got me thinking that it might be useful to show you what a canvas gallery wrap looks like. For some of you the word canvas and photograph conjures up the idea of something traditional or old fashioned that may not be to your taste. However gallery wraps are far from traditional. The canvas is stretched around a wooden frame and is ready to hang directly on the wall. They are very modern, look great in both color and black and white and come in a variety of sizes. The smaller sizes make wonderful special occasion gifts or for hanging in small wall spaces. Larger wraps can be a great focal centerpiece in a room.

Here’s a peek at one ordered by one of my clients. This image looked fabulous as a gallery wrap.
