I have a good friend and client here in town who does a fantastic job of letting everyone know about my work. She even spreads the word out of state too! Thank you L! As another favor she also recently allowed me to use her two girls for a location test shot which worked out perfectly. The girls also happen to have a brother who is a little cutie. Of course we just had to get a few shots of him too.
These girls were the stars of the session last Friday evening, happy to share some great looks and lots of giggles with me. Thank you to Mom for being on hand with the hairbrush! (We had a breeze pick up with the approach of tropical storm Hanna.) Thank you to Dad who was very eager to advertise my work to everyone out on their evening stroll! I hope this family had as much fun as I did.
It was a privilege to meet these lovely sisters yesterday and capture some special moments on camera. The youngest sister has a rare form of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma and is just beginning her treatment to battle this disease. Friends and members of our local community came together last week at a fundraising event. It was a good thing this high school girl had done all her homework before I arrived for the photo shoot. She was so fabulous to photograph I lost track of time and kept her outside until dark! The shoot would have been shorter but I learned right at the end that she was the very proud owner of a mint condition El Camino truck. Well of course we just had to include it in some of the shots.
It was great spending some time with this young lady and she was a natural in front of the camera. With school now back in session she’s going to be very busy and will also have the extra assignment of picking her portrait for the school yearbook!

We had wonderful late Summer evening light for this family session and really wonderful children too. I just love the dreamy look this girl is giving in the black and white portrait. It’s picture perfect.
I love my photo sessions with sibling groups. You get to see all the different expressions and personalities whether they are paying attention to me and my camera or being engaged with each other. These children were a delight to spend a couple of hours with. Here’s a selection from the session.
This high school girl was terrific in front of the lens. She did her very best to ignore the swirl of mosquitos this late Summer evening and we got some great portraits in the process! Good luck to her for the forthcoming final year at school.
One of my sessions this week was with this delightful 18 month old girl. Children of this age love to explore anything that’s not near the photographer, eat and drink and have Mom or Dad close at hand so I took some extra time here to capture some special images. She even bought her own pail to put flowers in (and snacks too)!
I LOVED my time with this family yesterday evening. One of these little guys was a little shy about having his photos taken at first. However he really warmed to the camera as you can see here. Mom Dad and the boys were so natural in front of the camera. The boys were full of energy right up until the end of the session and Dad really had his hands full (as you can see in the last photo)!!
