Fabulous kids, fabulous weather and fabulous evening color. Once again it was a treat to photograph these two children. I hope Mom and Dad have space in their wall gallery for some of these portraits!

Candid portraits are a very special part of a session. I may get a candid moment when I prompt the kids to do something with each other or when they are simply hanging out together and they think it’s a moment when I’m not working my camera. For my blog this week I’ve decided just to pick some ” in the moment” images from a really lovely session. We’ve got some special ones of all the family too but I’ll save those for the gallery!

It was nice to see one of my first clients return again for portraits. There was lots of energy, laughter and smiles too. I have to say a big thank you to the eldest sister for being very encouraging and patient with her younger sister for these portraits. Here’s a couple of images from the session that I really like.

I photographed this little girl a year ago. Her portrait (lying in a basket surrounded by leaves) is in my baby gallery. Here she is back again and ready to explore. She was dressed to impress with her bear for company. I just loved the coat and hat which was a perfect choice for our first chilly morning of Fall!

Last year I sent my holiday card in the new year. This year I was determined to be more organized and so with a few minutes to spare I got my kids in the garden to capture THE PERFECT posed portrait for the card. I got the portrait for the card (which I can’t show because it spoils it for all my family and friends who look on here). However the special ones for me were some of the out-takes. Just the ones of themselves being silly. My kids are just too funny! With them I don’t overdo it with the camera and they often are very relaxed and have fun.

It is gratifying to have repeat clients. Many families who book sessions with me return again. I am always astonished to see how much the children have grown. It shouldn’t be a suprise but as the photographer the memory of the previous portraits tend to stay with me until we meet again.
These two children are certainly growing up. I’ve got some delightful images from the session selected for the galley too!

I spent a delightful hour with these children. This little girl had a fun time exploring the bridge and playing with bubbles. She also has three fantastic brothers. They love soccer and I think they make a fantastic team. The portrait below is one of my favorites this year.

Last week I spent some time with this brother and sister for their session in one of the orchards in the area. Mike helped out on this shoot and we got some great images. In fact it’s taken me almost a week to pick my favorites, well some of them at least. They’ll be more to follow in the gallery!

I love doing sessions in September with the lovely late late summer evening light.
Here’s two from a mini session this week. The second group portrait was the very last shot taken. The final ones often make for fun images. This one is the “ARE WE DONE YET?” type of photo.
I will be offering mini sessions on a space available basis during the fall session. Details will be posted soon.
