Newborn session to share

I am playing catch up with a few of my sessions held later in 2012. Now were are well into the new year I just want to send belated new years greetings to my good clients and all following the blog. I wish you a wonderful 2013.

Here’s two of my favorite images from a newborn session in studio. The sister also came to visit for a few portraits along with Mom and Dad.  We had a few fleeting moments in front of the camera which is very normal with toddlers. I mean, why be in front of the camera when there’s better things to do!  I think the sibling portrait has a really lovely feel to it.

Hello Again

It was great to meet with this young man again for his high school senior portraits recently. I had first met his family for a late fall group portrait session a couple a years ago. I worked on some other portraits with him last year too. It was easy to pick up the conversation where we left off from last time. I like to talk a lot at my high school senior sessions. Actually I like to chat away at any session unless we are trying to keep a newborn asleep. For the teens it’s a good way to get them feeling relaxed and makes for an easy going session. If I don’t know anything about the teens who come and meet me I like to find out some information on what interests them before the session.

Talk Of The Town

I so enjoyed this session although it went on longer than usual. Generally the guys coming in for senior sessions prefer to get the photos over and done with as quickly as possible. With this in mind I suggested that the younger brother come along for some photos as well. They were both so easy going we went through the regular session time and then some too. They were such  good sports for staying until dark. It was also great spending some time with students from my own kids school district and talking about some familiar town/school subjects including sport and band. I was extremely impressed with this high school senior’s commitment to school issues including fundraising for the band.  I am sure he is going to be very successful in his future years.

Sound Asleep

This is the first newborn baby to visit my studio and sleep the entire session. This beautiful baby girl opened one eye just a tiny bit for a couple of seconds and that was it! It was great to also see her brother who I had also photographed as a newborn. He is now a busy young toddler and preferred some action down at the park to camera time. Quite understandable!  I just loved working on these proofs. I prepared the viewing gallery ahead of time, as I could not keep my myself away from the images.

Newborn Session To Share

This was a beautiful session. My pick for the blog happens to be all sleeping poses but this newborn girl was quite awake for some of the session. The result was a great mix of images. Mom and Dad made some great wall portrait choices. The trio of standouts they selected looked really stunning when they came back from the lab!

Full Of Smiles

This was one of my favorite in studio family/baby session so far this year. This lovely girl deserves the award for happiest visitor to come see me. I got all smiles from her even after a very short nap! The gallery wraps and coffee table book I designed for the family looked wonderful upon return from the lab. I’m sure they will look even better on display at home.

Smiles In Studio

Here’s two portraits from another recent studio session. Full shoots allow time for 2-3 outfit changes. It always fun if one of the outfits has a themed element to it. This little girl wore a Bears shirt and it worked really nicely for some of the portraits.

Two Sisters

It was great to have these two sisters in for a mini portrait session recently. We had a fun time all round and some fantastic portraits. Mini sessions are ongoing at the studio through March.

Happy Birthday

We were able to deliver portraits just in time for this little girl’s FIRST birthday. Happy birthday to her! Such a special time for her family and we cpatured some sweet images in the studio session.

Family In Studio

Here’s a couple of portraits from another studio session. Again in the first image I was looking to capture an intimate family moment. Black and white really works well to focus on the relationships or bonding moments in a portrait.
